PANO – Lieutenant General Nguyen Trung Thu, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army chaired a conference to review 10 years of implementing anti-terrorism tasks on July 12 at Commando Officer School.
Commandos hone anti-terrorism skills and tactics
Over the past ten years, party committees and commands of subordinate units of the Commando Arm Command have thoroughly studied and strictly instructed the implementation of anti-terrorism tasks while standing combat ready. The arm actively provided counselling on consolidating anti-terrorism forces for the Defence Minstry.
Besides, the arm’s units actively kept track of situation of localities and promoted training to increase the staff capability and combat readiness of anti-terrorism forces.
Addressing the ceremony, general Thu acknowledged results of commando forces in carrying out the mission over the past time and urged anti-terrorism forces in the whole army to continue to cooperate with other forces to keep track of situation of localities, maintain combat readiness and practice anti-terrorism projects.
He recommended that the arm should promote its staff’s ability to counter terrorists, study and compile documents on anti-terrorism and promote technical and tactical factors, traditional fighting techniques of forces and their achievements to carry out anti-terrorism tasks in the coming time.
