The talk focused on introducing developments in five regions, including the Gulf of Tonkin, waters along Central Vietnam, Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelagos, the Southern continental shelf, and the Southwestern waters.

The intentions of some countries towards the East Sea and Vietnam’s sea and islands, as well as prominent features in protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands of the Navy, were also highlighted.

Over the past time, the Navy has outstandingly accomplished its mission of protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, and the continental shelf. Besides, its role in natural disaster prevention, search and rescue at sea, especially offshore areas, has been actively promoted.
