PANO – Over 200 students, including 5 foreigners from Japan, China, Singapore, Portugal and Estonia, participated in a cycling tour, “Inspiring Dream”, which started in Ho Chi Minh City on July 12th.
According to the organizing board, during the tour, the team will carry out numerous charitable activities in education, health care and environment. Over 10,000 impoverished children and local people will benefit from the programme.
Significant activities of the team include granting “Inspiring Dream” scholarships; presenting book collections to schools and provincial libraries; providing lifebuoys, free health check-ups and medicine for needy people in localities. Besides, the team also takes part in reinforcing dikes, dredging irrigation channels and planting mangrove trees during their journey.
The Cycling tour 2013 through Southwest Vietnam, jointly held by the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans, First News-Tri Viet Publishing Co. Ltd. and the social organization of Green Future, will travel 1,100km through 10 cities and provinces of Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre and Tien Giang.
The tour will last 37 days and finish in Ho Chi Minh City on August 17th.
