HA NOI (VNS)— Quach Hoang Nhi, from the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, won first prize in the third Mozart International Piano Contest, which ended in Bangkok on Thursday.
The competition is an educational opportunity committed to improving equal rights and equal opportunities. It provides a performance platform for young musicians of various nationalities to develop their potential musical talents.
The competition divides contestants into four groups aged 24 and below. Nhi beat 22 other contestants from Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and the US to become the winner of Category D for contestants aged seven to nine.
Nhi has studied piano for five years and won several international and local prizes, including a gold prize last year from a music festival held in Cheonan, South Korea.
Nguyen Kieu Anh, another student from the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, made it to the final round of group for contestants aged 18 to 24. — VNS
