PANO – The Party Committee of Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, handed over more than VND 2 billion to support Truong Sa soldiers on July 24th.
The handover ceremony took place at a meeting on the East Sea situation and reviewing Vietnam sea and islands education and popularization work in the first 6 months of this year.
On behalf of Truong Sa cadres and soldiers, Rear Admiral Nguyen Ngoc Tuong, Deputy Commissar of the Navy, thanked the district’s cadres, party members and people for their encouragement and support. He stressed on the Truong Sa cadres and soldiers’ efforts to fulfil their assigned missions and uphold sacred national sovereignty over its sea and islands.
In the first half of this year, the district’s departments and organs teamed up with some organizations to carry out some practical activities, such as a writing contest on national sea and islands with nearly 7,000 entries, and scholarships for children of Truong Sa soldiers.
