City sees marginal rise in CPI in August

Ho Chi Minh City saw a marginal 0.31 percent rise in Consumer Price Index in August, according to latest data from the City Statistics Office.


The City CPI climbed 1.26 percent compared to the beginning of this year, and 3.17 percent compared to the same period last year.


This month, restaurants and catering services saw an increase of 0.19 percent with food surging 0.54 percent, foodstuff rising 0.22 percent, while eating-out remained unchanged.


In the commodity groups, transport posted sharpest increase with 1.24 percent, post and telecommunication treaded water while education slid 0.01 percent.
