(Cinet)- A photographic exhibition entitled “Discovering the Red River Civilization” and “Homeland’s sea and island” officially opened on August 28, at the Hai Phong Fine Arts Exhibition Center. Deputy Minister of MOCST Vuong Duy Bien attended.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien appreciated the enthusiastic participation and full responsibility of the photographer from Red River Delta region of artists and photographers from the provinces/cities in State and affirmed:the photo exhibition entitled “Discovering the Red River Civilization” and “Homeland’s sea and island” is acultural eventofnationalscale, held in Hai Phong city from August 28, 2013 to September 06, 2013.This is cultural activity to mark the National Independence Day (September 2) and the Hai Phong – Red River delta national tourism year 2013; the exhibition is an opportunity for the public to enjoy the beautiful photos, and the opportunity to promote and introduce the image of provincies/cities in Red River Delta and the country and people of Vietnam to the domestic public and international friends.
The 162 photos on display have been selected as the best entries from a nationwide contest launched in March by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. The contest, entitled ‘Discovering the Red River Civilisation’, received nearly 3,000 photos by more than 286 entrants from 35 cities and provinces throughout the country.
The week-long exhibition will also include 153 photos depicting the country’s sea and islands. The works were taken by 20 photographers during visits to navy units in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city, made to learn more about the lives of soldiers stationed there to protect the country’s sea and islands.
At the ceremony, the organization Board awarded three second prizes, three third prizes and 10 consolation prizes to the excellent authors and awarded certificates for the authors whose have works selected at shows.
The event last until September 06.
