The plan of building specific zones in Quang Ngai province forward 2020 and further to 2030 has been approved recently.
Accordingly, the zones are to be built on the general planning of The Central Key Economic Zone of Vietnam, including 5 provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Da Nang.
With the goalof being amodern industrializedprovince by 2020, Quang Ngai priority is given to develop industry, especiallypetrochemicalindustry, supporting industries, andthedevelopmentof marine economy.
Locating in the central coastal region of Vietnam, Quang Ngai has an important position, being a transit hub and a centerof internationaltradebetweenthe southern provincesof Laos, Thailand andNorthEastAsiaCambodia-Pacific region.
Its position plays an important rolein ensuringsecurityand national defense as well.
