The event’s purpose is to improve students’ English communication skills and learn about other countries’ cultures. There are booths for food, games and culture for both local and foreign students in town to learn and share knowledge with each other.
It is part of the SEA TO SEA 2013 – C2C 2013 contest for students to learn about the cultures of countries around the world in English which is organized by the Trade – Tourism – Marketing faculty of the university and consists of three rounds namely Learning, Discovering and Integrating and finishes up on October 6.
The contest is where participants can test their English skills, team work, brainstorming and presentation skills. From around 5,000 contestants, the top 24 are gearing up for the last two rounds.
The coronation night which will take place at 6 p.m. on October 6 will see finalists show their speaking skills with the theme ‘Economy – Society’ to find the winner.
A music gala with the participation of local singers and students will accompany the event at the HCMC University of Economics, Hall A116, 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in District 3.
SEA TO SEA 2013 – C2C 2013, which is in its seventh year, has sponsorship from Soundmax, EQuest Academy, Breakthrough Power Cop., Toan Thang Company, URC Vietnam, Barnyard food shop and Sowda Coffee.
