Construction on the headquarters of the Vietnam Christian Mission and the Gospel Theological Institute began in the central city of Da Nang on September 17.
The 6,000 sq.m building, situated in Hoa Xuan commune, Cam Le district, is expected to be completed in around three to five years at an estimated cost of about 100 billion VND.
Speaking at the event, head of the mission, Pastor An Uoc, thanked relevant agencies for facilitating the mission’s activities over the past time, particularly the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee for providing land for the construction of its headquarters.
The mission, established in 1956, was granted an operating license in religious activities by the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs in 2006 on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
To date, the organisation had over 31,000 followers with 48 pastors, 168 missionaries, five churches, 83 oratories and 200 groups in 14 cities and provinces nationwide.-VNA
