PANO – A seminar on enhancing maritime security cooperation has been jointly held in Hanoi by the Vietnam Marine Police and the Office of Defence Cooperation under the US Embassy in Vietnam.

The event will last for 5 days, starting on October 7th, with the participation of representatives from Vietnam’s Navy, Border Guards, General Department of Customs, Maritime Department, relevant units under the Vietnam Marine Police Force, and American experts.
Accordingly, the workshop aims to boost cooperation and information exchange among the Vietnamese agencies responsible for maritime security; and to work out documents relating to maritime security, including maritime policies, operational modes and procedures, and training processes on coastal and marine monitoring and management.
The event is considered a good chance for relevant Vietnamese agencies to exchange experiences and learn from American experts; and for Vietnamese authorities to enhance cooperation for safe territorial waters under Vietnam’s laws, international treaties and practices.
