PANO – Three dioxin detoxification centres will be built in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh cities by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) and relevant agencies, to provide better care for those affected by dioxin.
This was announced at the sixth conference of the second Central Executive Committee of VAVA in Hanoi on October 1st, to discuss city and provincial associations’ documents for the Association’s 3rd Congress, to revise the Union’s Regulations, and work out direction for activities in the 2013-2018 period.
Over the past five years, implementing the Resolution of the Association’s second Congress, the association paid attention to caring for and helping those affected by dioxin by building nursing and vocational centres and houses, as well as providing scholarships and jobs for them, contributing to easing the burdens on their families.
Previously, Thai Binh provincial dioxin detoxification centre was put into operation to help around 1,000 veterans and volunteer youth affected by dioxin.
