Japan helps Vietnam develop eco-city

According to Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan have discussed about the intergovernmental project between Vietnam and Japan on the development of eco-city in Vietnam. The cooperative agreement on project deployment was signed by the two Ministries to provide a formal basis and promote the next steps of the project.


The main contents of the memorandum aim to better the project’s objectives in the short, medium and long terms, co-operation modalities and the responsibilities of all parties in supporting the technical assistance project to build the standards and regulations related to eco-city in Vietnam.


Accordingly, the two sides discussed about the feasibility of the chosen locations for eco-city project in Vietnamand building of eco-city standards and regulations in Vietnam.


Currently, ​​Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City are chosen to be pilot cities.
