VietNamNet Bridge – An explosion broke out at the office of the authorities of Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district of the central province of Nghe An at about 2.30am on November 4, destroying the room of the commune’s Party Secretary.

Furniture in the room was destroyed, six windows and doors in the room fell to the ground. Luckily, the Party Secretary - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung, 42, slept at home so he was not affected by the incident.

Colonel Tran Sy Phang – police chief of Nghi Loc district confirmed that the explosion occurred at 2:30 am at the office of Dung, on the second floor. The explosion caused no casualties but all things in the room were destroyed. At that time, there was a guard named Tran Van Viet in the office but he slept in a room on the first floor.


Viet said he was awakened by a loud explosion. “I jumped up and opened the door. Locating the explosion on the second floor, I immediately called the police,” Viet said.


The commune office still opened as usual on November 5. However, the explosion scene was blocked for investigation.


“The scene examination has not been completed. The cause of the explosion is under investigation. We have not determined the type and the volume of explosive yet,” said the district police chief.
