(VOVworld)- South Korea’s Unification Ministry in charge of inter-Korean relations said Monday that it has proposed to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) a sub-panel dialogue on travel, communication, and customs for the Kaesong industrial complex to be held this Friday.
The same day, the Unification Ministry sent a notice of its proposal through the joint management committee secretariat of the joint factory park Kaesong. Seoul and Pyongyang have discussed the introduction of an electronic system to control passage of businessmen to and from Kaesong, mobile phone usage, and Internet connectivity through the travel and communications sub-committee. The discussion, however, was tabled by heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula after the DPRK canceled the reunion of families separated during the Korean War. Earlier this month, the two Koreas held talks on three other subcommittees-investment protection, internationalization, and rules for the complex.
