(VOV) – The World Bank (WB) Board of Executive Directors approved a 25 million USD credit this week to help Vietnam better manage trans-border water resources and climate risks and improve the collection, analysis, and data exchange of water resources.
The WB said Thursday that the aid will contribute to the institutional development of integrated water resources management in Vietnam’s part of the Sesan-Srepok Basin. It will help establish a Water Resources Monitoring Network in border areas with Cambodia and Laos in the Lower Mekong and a water resources information system for the Vietnam part of the Lower Mekong. The aid will also be spent on strengthening the hydro-meteorological information network, and flood forecasting and warning system in the Central Highlands.
