PANO – The Youth Union of Guard Brigade 144, under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Committee, held an exchange, “General Vo Nguyen Giap in hearts of the Guard Brigade’s youth”, on December 5th, in the presence of Lieutenant General Pham Hong Cu, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics.
During the event, 103 outstanding young members of the unit’s Youth Union, representing the age of the well-known general, listened to stories by those who guarded General Vo Nguyen Giap, donated their blood to the general at Military Hospital 108, witnessed people nationwide mourning his death, and escorted the general’s coffin to his hometown in Quang Binh province.
Lieutenant General Pham Hong Cu recalled the country’s magnanimous time and General Vo Nguyen Giap’s historical decisions during the national resistance war against foreign invaders.
The exchange is a good opportunity for the brigade’s troops to reminisce about General Vo Nguyen Giap’s great contributions to the national independence and freedom, and show their sentiment to and unforgettable memories with the beloved general, aiming at promoting their revolutionary will and striving to fulfil all assigned tasks.
The exchange model will be multiplied in units of the General Staff in the coming time.
