PM okays establishment of Lai Chau City

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has issued a decision (No131/NQ-CP) to establish Lai Chau City in the northen province of the same name.


The new city will be formed by upgrading the status of Lai Chau Town. It will have a total area of more than 7,000ha, 52,500 residents and seven districts – Quyet Thang, Quyet Tien, Doan Ket, Tan Phong, Dong Phong, Nam Loong and San Thang.

Foreign ties facilitate Da Nang growth


The Da Nang People’s Committee has reported that it has established and maintained relations with 32 foreign cities and provinces.


It also maintains ties with more than 150 international organisations and has established trade relations with more than 100 countries and territories.


This co-operation has played an important role in ensuring the central city’s stable development, the committee said.

HCM City plans more quality kindergartens


Le Thanh Hai, Party Secretary of HCM City, said that the municipal administration will build more kindergartens that meet national standards next year, especially near industrial zones and rural areas.


Budgetary allocation for the city’s education sector will be increased from 26 per cent to 28 per cent towards improving its infrastructure, he said.


The city will continue “socialisation” of the education sector in order to raise more capital, he added.
