“We planned the matches will be played at 17:00pm and 19:30pm and later we want the matches to be live aired. After discussing with TV stations, the competition time must be changed to 15:40pm and 18:00pm,” said Nguyen Tan Anh.

“We apologize to fans for the adjustment,” he added.

Ticket sale started yesterday evening with a large crowd of fans queuing in long lines to buy tickets in hopes of watching the performance of international-level players of the ‘first batch’ of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai – Arsenal football academy. The U-19 players of the school based in the central Gia Lai Province, Vietnam impressed fans after the SEA U-19 Championship in September in Indonesia.

Tickets are sold in three prices VND150,000 (US$7.2) – VND100,000 – VND50,000.

U-19 Vietnam’s coach Duong Minh Ninh, who replaces the head coach Grachen Guillaume going on his holiday, said his team will make their most spectacular performance and collect experience for other upcoming tournaments as the SEA U-19 Football Championship and the Asian U-19 Football Championship.

Vietnam sets a goal to be in top four of the 2014 Asian U-19 Football Championship to be held in October in Myanmar, to win one of the four direct tickets to advance to the finals round of the U-20 World Cup in 2015 in New Zealand.

After the friendly tourney, the U-19 Vietnam team will leave for Belgium for a month long training session. From June, the team will have another training trip in England until October.
