Doosan Vina has recently held a ceremony to donate more than 600,000 multivitamins worth more than $10,000 to improve the Quang Ngai children’s health. The vitamins were presented to the Department of Health in collaboration with Internourish of the USA. Representatives of the company also donated vital medicines to the Dang Thuy Tram hospital for the treatment of patients.
This was the third multivitamin donation supported by Doosan Vina and Internourish.
To launch CSR in 2014 Doosan Vina in conjunction with Internourish, presented 600,000 vitamins worth nearly 225 million VND or more than $10,000 USD to the Quang Ngai Department of Health. The vitamins will help overcome nutritional deficiencies for 1,667 children’s in the area for one year to improve their nutritional deficiencies.
This donation of vitamins is an ongoing commitment to the children of Quang Ngai by Doosan Vina and Internourish that began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the19th of May 2011.
The second event of the day related to health that was also funded by Doosan Vina was doses of medicine 100% imported from Korea for treatment of chronic pain related to back and joint conditions blood disorders and more to Dang Thuy Tram hospital in Vietnam’s Quang Ngai Province.
The donations culminated a week of CSR activities that was a cooperative effort by Doosan Vina and Chung Ang University of Seoul South Korea. A group of 55 Chung Ang students volunteered to come to Vietnam to perform a week of education and health related CSR projects. The volunteers painted and renovated: Quang Ngai’s school for the Disabled, the Binh Thuan Primary in Binh Son, the An Vinh school on Ly Son Island and helped out at the Doosan Dream Kindergarten.
In total the value of the weeks CSR projects exceeded 350 million VND and over the past five years Doosan Vina has contributed well over $2 million to the local community.
