On January 23, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of the Province visited Hue Archdiocese and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee of the province on occasion of Tet holiday. The delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
On behalf of the delegation, Secretary Thien informed Hue Archdiocese and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee of the province of Thua Thien Hue highlights in 2013. Especially, the provincial economy continues to grow reasonably at the rate 7.89%; 9/13 targets have been completed and succeeded beyond all expectations; lots of key construction projects have been completed on schedule and come into operation; urban infrastructure is enhanced; social welfare, education, health, employment, and poverty alleviation are improved; political platform is stabilized; security and defense is safeguarded. The Secretary emphasized that religions, dignitaries, Buddhists, and parishioners made positive contributions to the provincial achievements.
2014 is an important year in building Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed city. Many important projects will be implemented in this year. In the happy moment of the Lunar New Year 2014, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien wished Hue Archdiocese, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee of the province, dignitaries, Buddhists, and parishioners a peaceful, happy, and successful spring. He hoped and believed that all dignitaries, Buddhists, and parishioners would be further tight and united; live a good life with good religion; together develop the homeland; and contribute to building Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed city.
