Speaking at the opening ceremony, Usa Wijarurn, Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam said that the eighth Thai retail fair which was organised on the threshold of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2014 is to bring Vietnamese customers more choices of high-quality products and services from Thailand.


Pham Thi Hong Thanh, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Asia-Pacific Market Units said that Vietnam is the ninth largest trade partner of Thailand. Two-way trade turnover in 2013 reached USD4.9 billion, a 9.3 percent rise over a year earlier. The annually organised Thai retail fair offers opportunities to develop cultural and economic relations between the two countries.


The fair features more than 120 booths of 100 Thai companies and exporters. Exhibited goods at the fair include foods, beverages, fruits, housewares, textiles, electrical appliances, healthcare and beauty products, auto gadgets, bicycles and accessories, and souvenirs.


Made in Thailand Outlet 2014will run until January 26. It was co-organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam, with the cooperation of Vinexad /.
