5,300 households to resettle for Long Thanh International Airport

The Dong Nai Province People’s Committee held a meeting on February 28 to handle displaced people due to the construction of the Long Thanh International Airport.

About 17,000 people from 5,300 households will be resettled in two projects in Loc An and Binh Son Communes of Long Thanh District. The projects will be constructed in over 500 hectares of land and cost VND 4.1 trillion (US$194.5 million). It is expected to house 54,000 people.


The committee will focus on employment for 15,000 of the displaced people because they are working age.


About VND 470 billion (US$22.3 million) will be allocated in 2014 to complete plans and documents of the project.
