Long Bien Bridge
The Prime Minister asked Ministry of Transport and Hanoi authorities to collaborate the best placement for the new railway bridge.
Preservation of the bridge has been a controversial subject, said Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang.
The Ministry of Transport believes that building a new bridge 30 meters from Long Bien Bridge will be the lowest-cost solution.
Delegates from Hanoi believe that building the new bridge 186 meters from Long Bien would be a better solution. However the ministry said that plan would require relocation of thousands of households which would be extremely difficult and costly.
