Commemoration of the Late PM Pham Van Dong

​An incense offering ceremony in memory of the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong was formally held at his homeland, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province on February 28 on the occasion of his 108th birthday (March 1, 1906 – 2014) by Quang Ngai provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.


​The provincial Secretary of Party Committee Vo Van Thuong, provincial leaders, leaders of Mo Duc district, Pham Van Dong University as well as numerous local people and students attended the ceremony.


Late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong was born in Cay Gao hamlet, Duc Tan commune, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province, a poor land but rich in patriotic traditions. He was involved in revolutionary activities from 1925, when he was 19. Late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong is considered as an outstanding student of President Ho Chi Minh, a prestigious leader of the Vietnam Communist Party and the revolution.


During 41 years as a Party Central Committee member, 35 years as a Politburo member and 32 years as Prime Minister, Pham Van Dong was an excellent political theorist with a strategic vision and dynamic in thought, who always stayed close to the people. He devoted his whole life to the national revolutionary cause for independence, freedom and happiness.


The incense offering ceremony took the occasion to express respect and deep gratitude of Quang Ngai people for the great contribution of the late Prime Minister made to the cause of national liberation and construction.
