First quarter budget collection in HCMC rises 16 percent

(CPV) - Ho Chi Minh city collected more than VND60.4 trillion for the budget in the first quarter this year, 26.4 percent of the year’s estimate and a year-on-year rise of 16.07 percent, according to the city People’s Committee.


Of this figure, domestic collection reached VND32.1 trillion, 25.9 percent of the year’s estimate and up 9.05 percent, while collection from export and import activities posted VND19.8 trillion, 26.7 percent of the year’s estimates and up 41.3 percent.


Revenue from crude oil reached VND8 trillion, 29.3 percent of the year’s estimates and up 3.4 percent.


The budget collection during the period saw improvements as almost all targets enjoyed rises against the same period last year, especially collection from the economic sector increasing by 9.05 percent. This showed that production and business recovered and enterprises made efforts to maintain their activities to contribute taxes and duties to the state budget.


Also according to statistics by the city People’s Committee, total budget spending reached an estimated VND7.59 trillion, 18.09 percent of the year’s estimate and an 8.49 percent rise against the same period last year./.
