(CPV) – Total trade and service turnover of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau in the first quarter this year reached an estimated VND37.2 trillion, 22 percent of the year’s plan and a year-on-year rise of 13.5 percent, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.
Of this figure, trade turnover was estimated at VND15.7 trillion, 21.8 percent of the year’s plan and up 14.2 percent against the same period.
Industrial production value (excluding crude oil and gas) in the first quarter reached about VND13.7 trillion, 22.4 percent of the year’s plan and a year-on-year increase of 4.7 percent. Meanwhile, the province achieved agricultural production value of VND619 billion, 24.5 percent of the year’s plan and up 4.34 percent.
Forestry production was valued at VND632 billion, 22.8 percent of the year’s plan and up 4.83 percent. Seafood output reached more than 63,000 tonnes, up 3.6 percent, while aquaculture output was 3.400 tonnes, up 4.1 percent.
Aiming to speed up socio-economic development in the near future, the province will enhance investment from the state budget, boost the progress of major projects and prioritize transport infrastructure projects in combination with stabilizing social welfare, focusing on poverty reduction and offering more employment./.
