At 9 am of March 31, 2014, WB Vice President for East and Pacific Region Alex Van Trotsenburge will join the online discussion about challenges and solutions to climate change in the world generally and in Vietnam particularly.

The online discussion is part of his visit to Vietnam as World Bank East Asia and Pacific Regional Vice President. Earlier he went on a field trip to Cuu Long Delta, the country’s ricegranary and also the place suffering the most from sea-level rise.

He leads the World Bank’s strategy in the region to support regional countries to address four main challenges: natural disasters; poverty and inequality; infrastructure and urbanization; and making governments work for people.

World Bank currently carries out 19 projects relating to climate change mitigation through renewable energy development, energy efficiency, low-carbon emission transport; climate change adaptation through climate-smart agriculture, climate-related recovery capacity and water resource management.
