VietNamNet Bridge – On Wednesday, Vinpearl JSC, the organizer of the Miss Vietnam World 2010 pageant, officially decided on the form of penalty to be imposed on Miss Luu Thi Diem Huong for providing false information on her marriage status.
Diem Huong will not lose her crown, but is given a warning for her untruthfulness in declaring her personal information in the file sent to the organizing committee of the Miss Universe 2012 pageant.
In late February, the husband of Diem Huong, a businessman in HCM City, suddenly filed for divorce at the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court. This incident stirred the public because Diem Huong had never admitted to being married.
Diem Huong was crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010 at the age of 20. She married the businessman in 2011 and one year later she participated in the Miss Universe pageant claiming to be single.
Because of this dishonesty, the beauty queen has been criticized by the media and the public.
The Performing Art Agency banned her from all performing activities but then withdrew the ban. Currently, Miss Vietnam World 2010 is no longer prohibited from publicly performing, but her performances will be strictly managed.
