Police in Lam Dong Province have released a suicide note allegedly written by a father who murdered his two children before taking his own life.
Tran Phuoc Thanh, 30, was found lying on his bed Friday, with a knife plunged deep in his chest. Beside him lay the bodies of his son, 5, and daughter, 3.
Forensic investigators reported that Thanh died from two self-inflicted stab wounds.
The note found at the scene contained a thank-you and farewell to his parents. It also asked that their bodies be cremated.
“Please give my wife VND200 million to take care of her future,” said the note, addressed to his parents.
Local police said had Thanh had left home to seek a mental examination and treatment in February. He only returned home a month ago, but after many fights, he and his wife separated.
Following the separation, their children lived with their mother and her family. On Friday, Thanh’s mother picked them up to visit their father. The stabbing occurred while she was out.
Police are investigating further.
