In the morning of April 26, in Nghia Hanh district, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the Provincial Youth Union organized the launching ceremony in response to the National water of clean water and rural sanitation in 2014.
Under the implementation of the National Target Program on Clean Water and Rural Sanitation, Quang Ngai authority has built and put into use many rural clean water supply works to meet demands of using clean water. As reported by Quang Ngai DARD, currently, there are 80 % of rural people accessing hygienic water sources, 60 % of households having hygienic latrines and striving 100% of households to use hygienic latrines by 2020.
At the meeting, leaders of DARD, Provincial Youth Union and Nghia Hanh DPC called up people to respond to the National week of clean water and rural sanitationin many practical and specific activities.
In particularly, focusing on building, management, operation and maintenance of water supply works and sustainable sanitation, ensuring the safe water supply; at the same time, strengthening inspection of construction quality and water quality; propagandizing and guiding people in treatment and storage of safe water; dissemination and implementation of policies on investment and management of rural clean water; and mobilization of organizations, individuals for implementing the National Target Program on Clean Water and Rural Sanitation.
After the ceremony, more than 1,000 youths, students paraded and cleaned up the environment and dredge canals.
On this occasion, Provincial Youth Union supported Nghia Hanh district 10 million VND to carry out the social security activities in the district area.
