VITM – Hanoi 2014, themed “Tourism promotion – New destinations, new opportunities and responsible tourism for a sustainable growth”, is a major event of Vietnam’s tourism industry and a professional trade fair of international stature.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam appreciated the efforts of Vietnam Tourism Association, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Hanoi’s relevant agencies for their cooperation in holding such a great tourism fair in the mode of socializing and mobilizing resources from the community and enterprises domestically and internationally. He stressed that the event plays a significant role in affirming and promoting tourism products and brands of the nation’s tourism as well as that of Hanoi.
At the four-day event, tourism enterprises and airlines will launch an extensive promotion program with 8,000 tours which has been discounted up to 60 percent, with about 15,000 low-priced air tickets, 600 hotel coupons, free restaurants and other tourism promotional services.
There are more than 500 booths of more than 600 domestic and international enterprises from 22 countries and territories providing their latest products and services.
Besides demand stimulus activities, VITM 2014 will organise seven international meetings and conferences, 11 press conferences to introduce international and domestic products, three signing ceremonies, seven gastronomy performances and one tourism forum.
The event is expected to attract 50,000 visitor arrivals./.
