The Central Propaganda Board in collaboration with the Steering Committee of the Central Highlands, Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee and Institute of Oriental Research and Development have recently held a scientific seminar on Conservation-Development Solutions for the Central Highlands culture.
At the seminar, the Center Highlands’ folklore researcher of Linh Nga Nie Kdam, Dr. Tuyet Nhung, Dr. YGhi Nie, writer Nie Thanh Mai, musician Kra jan K’Dick, cultural researcher Ka So Lieng, writer Y Dieng… discussed specific measures to preserve and develop the Center Highlands culture; particularly, emphasizing the important role of conserving, promoting and developing the traditional cultural space of the Central Highlands ethnic groups; preserving the architecture of the ethnic minority’s stilt houses, communal houses; developing traditional crafts; preserving and promoting the gongs-culture atmosephere…
Addressing at the seminar, Deputy Chief of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda Board, Mr. Vu Ngoc Hoang, asserted the strategic solutions to preserve and promote the Central Highlands culture being to associate the cultural development with the tourism development. In particular, the “cultural tourist village” is considered the potential and solution for developing the cultural issues in the CentralHighlands and surrounding areas. He suggested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Arts Association in the provinces and departments concerned to strengthen extensively propagating the Central Highlands’ cultural values, simultaneously, implementing activities associated with cultural development with tourism development as a sustainable and effective direction.
