Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee Tran Van Minh on 11 June had a meeting with Son Ha District Party Standing Committee on the socio-economic situation, internal affairs in 2013 and key tasks for the last months of 2014.
As reported, in 2013, the district’s economy had stable development with the growth rate reaching 16.8 percent. In Quarter 1 of 2014, the total production value is estimated at VND 140 billion, fulfilling 22.6 % of the year plan. The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction.
After over three years of implementing the new rural construction program, so far, the whole district has had 1 commune achieving 9/19 criteria, 1 commune achieving 5 criteria, 8 communes achieving from 2 to 3 criteria and 3 others achieving 1 criterion of new rural construction.
At the meeting, the district leaders also proposed the provincial government for removing Tra Khuc 1 hydropower project from the province’s hydroelectric plan; allocating the budget for implementation of road projects of Nghia Trang Liet Si – Nuoc Rac and Huyen Doi – Nuoc Bung; approving the construction of Center for cultural conservation of Hre people in the district, etc…
Concluding at the meeting, Deputy Secretary Minh urged the district to further speed up the productiondevelopment of industrial and agro-forestry in a sustainable way; make the most of internal resources in order to soon achieve the criteria of the new rural construction in the locality.
In addition, he also asked the district to pay due attention to Party building work and have a long-term development strategy of human resources; to better implement the inspection, settlement of letters of complaints and denunciations and the fight against corruption, contributing to maintaining security and politics in the locality.
