Lieutenant General Vo Tien Trung delivers a speech at the opening ceremony for the training course
PANO – Lieutenant General Vo Tien Trung, Director of the National Defence Academy, chaired the opening ceremony for a training course on national defence and security knowledge for senior officials of the Party, State and armed forces on June 26th.
The course aims to promote the trainees leadership capacity in building strong whole people’s defence and security posture in all ministries, sectors and localities to meet requirements for the national construction and protection cause in the new stage of development.
It also provides participants with new expertise to update information through subjects on strategies of some other countries relating to Vietnam’s national defence and security; to fight enemy’s plots; develop socio-economy in line with enhancing national defence and security; strengthen defensive areas; well manage and protect national sovereignty over sea and islands; and shift localities to higher levels of combat readiness.
Besides, the trainees will practice exercises on dealing with riots, participate in defensive area drills, visit some cities, provinces and army units, and discuss with local authorities on tasks of developing socio-economy in combination with national defence and security.
