Former U.S. President Bill Clinton to visit Vietnam

VietNamNet Bridge – Mr. Bill Clinton will come to Vietnam on July 18 as a representative of the HIV/AIDS prevention program of the Clinton Foundation.

According to the website of the Clinton Foundation, from July 16 to 23, Mr. Clinton will go to some countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including India (July 16-17), Vietnam (July 18), Indonesia (July 19), Papua New Guinea (July 21), and Australia (July 23), where he is expected to attend the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne.


According to the website, the visit confirms the “long-standing commitment by former President Clinton to the Asia-Pacific region as well as the Clinton Foundation to a variety of important issues of the region, including global health, improving access to medicines, climate change and economic development.”


In Hanoi, Mr. Clinton will visit an orphanage and examine the implementation of the Clinton Health Initiative program which aims at preventing tuberculosis in HIV-infected children.
