On August 24th, a ceremony to honour 132 outstanding graduates from universities and institutes in the capital took place at Ly Thai To statue.


Among the 132 graduates honoured were 37 males and 95 females; 56 of them are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.


Addressing the ceremony, Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and secretary of Hanoi City, congratulated and praised the graduates. He said that this was the 12th consecutive year Hanoi has honoured its outstanding graduates.


Mr. Nghi asked committees, agencies and people of all walks of life in Hanoi to continue caring for talents and create conditions for graduates to study further so, contributing to building of a more beautiful, modern and civilized capital and nation.


On the same day, at a meeting with graduates, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, reiterated the Party, State, National Assembly and Government have always paid special attention to young people and students. She hailed the graduates’ determination to devote more to the nation and urged them to exert greater efforts to become good Vietnamese citizens./.
