PANO – Deputy Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, paid a working visit to the High Command of Vietnam Marine Police on August 12th.
At the working session, General Cung was reported on the unit’s achievements over the past time and the plans for implementing missions in the remaining months of the year. Accordingly, since the beginning of this year, the force has seriously implemented its higher’s levels’ instructions to fulfil its assigned tasks, especially in safeguarding national sovereignty and enforcing law at sea.
The force will continue to focus on adjusting this year’s plans, boosting the ideological and political works and to encouraging troops to accomplish their assigned tasks.
General Cung praised the force’s efforts in ensuring security and order in the national waters. He also urged the marine police to pay attention to carrying out its emulation and reward work. Besides, he asked the unit to prevent law violations and crimes at sea, and be resolutely determined to maintain security at sea and defend the national sovereignty over sea and islands.
