Endangered sea turtle released to the wild

A rare and endangered sea turtle that caught in a fishing net off the coast of Quang Binh Province has been released to the sea.



Recently several sea turtles have been driven to shore or caught in a nets


The provincial Fishery Resource Exploitation and Protection Department said on August 5 that they have safely returned a leather-back sea turtle back to the sea.


The turtle weighs around 80 kilos, and is a species classified as critically endangered.


On August 4, a fishing boat owned by Truong Thanh, from Dong Hoi City, caught the rare turtle in a net while fishing around 10 nautical miles off the coast.


Thanh immediately handed the turtle over to the branch, which decided to release the animal.
