PANO – The artistic exchange, entitle “Joining hands in easing Agent Orange (AO) pain” in 2014, took place at the Hanoi Opera House in the evening of August 9th in celebration of the Vietnam Day for Victims of AO/Dioxin (August 10th).



This annual exchange aimed to raise awareness of people from all walks of life in Vietnam and other countries in the world on the AO/Dioxin calamity in Vietnam. It also targeted to raise more spiritual and material support for the fight for justice for victims of AO/Dioxin of Vietnam.


Participants watched reports on the care for and assistance to AO victims, AO/Dioxin calamity and efforts to overcome AO/dioxin consequences. They also got a chance to exchange with role models of AO victims surmounting difficulties.


On the occasion, the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented certificates recognizing “golden hearts” in the 2011-2014 period to 123 domestic and international organizations and individuals as a token of gratitude to their donations for AO victims.


In the morning the same day, more than 3,000 people in Ho Chi Minh City and officials joined a walk for the handicapped with adversity. The walk, departing from the Dam Sen Cultural Park, was launched by the city’s Red Cross in response to the action month “For victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the disabled with adversity”.


The walk collected VND 2.15 billion.


On the occasion, the city’s Red Cross presented gifts to children exposed to AO/Dioxin in Hoa Binh (Peace) village and families of victims of AO/Dioxin in the city.
