Haiphong delegation, led by Mr Pham Tuyen – Member of the city Standing Party Committee, Head of the Haiphong Economic Zone Authority, paid a working visit to Oslo city, Norway with the aim of studying market and promoting business and investment chances in Haiphong. The delegation had working sessions with the Enterprise Federation of Norway (VIRKE), the Oslo Chamber of Commerce and exchanged with the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Norway. During the working session, Haiphong delegation introduced the city’s trade, investment environment and the projects luring investment. They also expressed their hope that the Norwegian business organizations as the Enterprise Federation of Norway, the Oslo Chamber of Commerce as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Norway will serve as the bridge toencourage Norwegian enterprises to set up their trade and investment ties in Haiphong in particular and in Vietnam in general. Representatives from the VIRKE and the Olso Chamber of Commerce expressed their confidence that business opportunities will be opened up in the time ahead, especially after the negotiation is reached and a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Union, including Norway, is signed. Representative of Oslo Chamber of Commerce also expressed willingness to cooperate, coordinate and assist in promoting and introducing the city of Haiphong to Norwegian investorsvia business seminars and other channels. Commercial Director of VIRKE Thomas Angell shared his view on key points that Haiphong needs to pay attention to when approaching the Norwegian market. During the delegation’s visit to Norway, Ambassador of Vietnam to Norway Le Thi Tuyet Mai also confirmed that the embassy will make efforts to connect partners from Vietnam, including those from Haiphong city with Norwegian partners. |
