PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, inspected the Military and Border Guards Command of the Central province of Quang Binh on January 22nd.
At the meeting, leaders of the two units briefed the General on their task implementation in 2014.

Accordingly, they well made recommendations to local authorities to effectively carry out military and defence activities, especially in successfully holding the province’s annual defensive area exercise, the 410th anniversary of Quang Binh liberation and the VPA’s 70th founding day.
They also closely worked with relevant organs to maintain the social order and ensure security, safe and solemn reception to troops and visitors at General Vo Nguyen Giap’s tomb in Vung Chua, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh.
In addition, Hoang Dang Quang, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, briefed the general on the province’s achievements in local socio-economy and national defence-security.
The general requested the two Commands to continuously conduct instructions and resolutions on military and defence missions by the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defence, including the Resolution of the 8th session of the 11th Party Central Committee on national protection strategy in the new context; to promote the training and combat readiness quality and the relationship with armed forces of Lao provinces along the shared border; to maintain the watch during the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival and the Party congresses at all levels.
The general paid homage to General Vo Nguyen Giap at his tomb and offered incense at some martyrs’ cemeteries.
