Defence Minister meets with demobilized soldiers

PANO – Minister of National Defence, General Phung Quang Thanh, on January 22nd talked with guards of Battalion 1 of Brigade 144 under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and of Military Police Battalion 103 under the Hanoi Capital High Command, who have accomplished their military services.

154 demobilized guards are from seven ethnic minority groups in 11 northern cities and provinces. Among them, 50 have been commended for their well fulfillment of missions and 12 have been admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.


The minister hailed them for their hard study, practice and endeavour to fulfil assigned missions, ensuring security for the ministry’s organs.


Emphasizing their promotion of traditional virtue of Uncle Ho’s soldiers during their military services, the minister expressed his hope that returning to their home towns, the demobilized troops would continue accomplishing missions at new posts and be successful in life. To that end, the general asked them to further study to have stable jobs, contributing to economic development in localities.
