PANO – The Tuoi tre Newspaper on August 24th opened an exhibition, themed “Youths join hands to defend the national sovereignty over the East Sea“, in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the National Day (September 2nd) and its 39th founding anniversary.

On display are around 200 photos and articles proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagoes, reflecting the developments in 75 days in the East Sea since China illegally placed its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, as well as highlighting courage of the Vietnamese people in Hoang Sa and the Vietnam’s efforts to defend national sovereignty over the East Sea.



Besides, the eight-day exhibition also introduces videos on the fights of the Vietnamese law enforcement forces to protect national sacred sovereignty in face of the illegal deployment of China’s oil-rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 in Vietnam’s territorial waters.


At the opening, viewers had exchange with Lieutenant Le Trung Thanh, captain of the Ship CSB 4033 of Coast Guard Region 2 of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command on mission of defending national sovereignty over sea and islands.
