All children affected by HIV/AIDS in Hau Giang province can go to school

The southern province of Hau Giang will strive to have 100% of schools, providing opportunities for children affected by HIV/AIDS.


This is one of the goals of the province in the action plan for children affected by HIV/AIDS in the period 2014-2020.


To accomplish this goal, the province will build materials, provide information, knowledge about care and protection of children affected by HIV/AIDS for related people. At the same time, the knowledge and skills will be also provided for managers and teachers at educational institutions, students of pedagogical colleges, universities, people caring for children affected by HIV/AIDS in the community and those who provide services to children affected by HIV/AIDS.


Besides, the province also supports education for children affected by HIV/AIDS on their needs; improving capacity for staff working in education on protection and care of children affected by HIV/AIDS; carrying out activities against discrimination against children affected by HIV/AIDS in schools and integrating with the activities of the education and training sector.


In addition, the province will also strengthen inspection and strict management of cultural products, entertainment services for children to not participate in discrimination or stigmatise children affected by HIV/AIDS; closely monitoring the implementation of the law on the protection, care and education for children affected by HIV/AIDS.


The province also timely provides information, knowledge on protection, care and social policy relating to children affected by HIV/AIDS for children-rearing facilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS at 13 years old and older and their caregivers./.
