Con Dao National Park to receive the recognition title as Ramsar site on November 1st 2014

​This information was announced by People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau after the meeting of provincial leaders discussing and agreeing on the time of the ceremony in recognition of Con Dao National Park as a wetland of international importance (Ramsar). This is the 6th Ramsar site of Vietnam.



In addition to the ceremony, the program also consists of other activities such as visiting Con Dao National Park, setting free the sea turtles, propagating to raise awareness of the community about the Ramsar Convention and other values brought by the Ramsar site…


Con Dao National Park currently consists of 14,000 hectares of wetlands, of which there are about 2,113 hectares of coastal salt-water wetlands including shallows bay at low tide; the coastal and littoral areas with rocks, sand, gravels; mangrove forest areas. In early 2014, the Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention recognized Con Dao National Park as one of 2,203 Wetlands of International Importance.
