On September 10, in Ha Noi, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFC) held a ceremony to present the 11th annual Press Awards entitled “For the Cause of Great National Unity” with the attendance of Chairman of VFFC Nguyen Thien Nhan.
Over 1,100 press entries from 175 press agencies across the country participated in the contest, of which 97 outstanding pieces of journalism on national unity were given awards, including 4 A prizes, 18 B prizes, 35 C prizes and 40 consolation prizes.
Quang Ngai gained 2 C prizes, including the series ‘Spreadingthemovementin line withUncle Ho” by Thanh Thuan and the work of “Save lives from the flood” by Minh Toan.
This year’s entries, covering various kinds of media including print, radio, television, online and photo-journalism, have reflected patriotic emulation movements throughout the country. They have also promoted the strength of the great national unity bloc, especially in reducing poverty, preventing natural disasters, protecting the environment and acknowledging exemplary role-models as well as the aspirations of people.
