PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence, on September 25th visited the Military and Border Guard Commands of the Central province of Quang Tri.
The General was briefed on the two commands’ results in implementing their missions since early this year by their commanders. Accordingly, they closely worked with the police and customs to fight drug related crimes in border areas, and actively helped local authorities and residents develop the socio-economy and ensure the social order.
General Cung highly valued their recent achievements and encouraged them in the coming time to continuously raise their troops’ responsibilities and political stance, actively maintain the watch and follow the local situations, make recommendations to local authorities to carry out military and national defence work, and promptly prevent law offending cases in border areas.
Previously, the Deputy Minister of National Defence had offered incense to martyrs at the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.
