Vietnam receives numerous congratulatory messages for National Day

Many international leaders have extended congratulatory messages to Vietnamese leaders on the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, September 2.

Among the warm congratulatory messages are those from General Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee and President of China, Xi Jinping; the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, Zhang Dejiang; and the Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang.


Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday sent a message to Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang, saying: “India and Vietnam share a long tradition of close relations. India attaches great value to this friendship and considers Vietnam a trusted friend,” the Economic Times reported.


“On behalf of the government and people of India and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in extending warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the government and people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the 69th Anniversary of your National Day,” the Indian president said.


Mukherjee said he is honored to receive an invitation to visit Vietnam, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, from September 14 to 17.


He added that he looks forward to arriving in the Southeast Asian country, and to working closely with President Sang to further strengthen the partnership, mutual trust, and cooperation between India and Vietnam.


Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party’s Central Committee and President of Laos, Choummaly Sayasone; the Lao Prime Minister, Thoongsinh Thammavong; and the Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly, Pany Yathotu, have also sent good wishes to their Vietnamese counterparts.


At the same time, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has congratulated Vietnam on this special day.


Vietnamese leaders have also received congratulatory messages from leaders in Russia, Cuba, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, and more.


The Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon, has extended his felicitations to the leaders of Vietnam as well.
