On Sept.10, at Tinh Hoa Port, Vietnam-Japan Consulting and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (Yanmar Company) in combination with the provincial relevant agencies introduced composite fishing vessels to fishermen.
As shared, a composite fishing vessel worth VND 7.8 billion has the length of 18m, width of 4.6 m, the capacity of 350 CV and the maximum speed of 12.5 knots / hour.
By usingcomposite boats , the fishermencan raise theiryield, reduce fuel spending and improve their overall stock quality by utilizing betterpreservation technologies.
Said by Mr. Yukio Kikuchi, director of Yanmar, the Company is promoting the central coastal localities to establish offshore fishing teams by composite fishing vessels.
To solve the problem of funding, Yanmar has committed to guide fishermen in tuna fishing cum catching cuttle-fish; to transferthe technology of extraction, preservation, tuna quality control and consumption of all products with reasonable prices.
Reportedly, the Company is implementing a pilot project to supply composite vessels to Vietnamese fishermen in Khanh Hoa , Phu Yen and Binh Dinh province to help them increase tuna yield and quality under the program of modernizing fishing vessels, raising income for fishermen and developing Vietnam’s fishing industry.
